Broke the news of my resignation to my colleagues last week. Told Mee Tin over tianji porridge today that I do not want colleagues to waste money on farewell gift. A farewell lunch will do. Yes,am looking forward to next year, shared with Ms Choy that I will have time for facial and quality sleep next year. I need those badly.

Kyan becomes more responsive as he picks up new vocabulary and acquire new skills..it's becoming more fun communicating with him. When Daddy asks him where the little rat is in the board book, he scans the page and points to the rat in excitement.
Having said that, this phase is also a challenging one whereby all of us have to confront separation anxiety. I have learnt to teach Kyan face up to separation anxiety --openly say bye bye instead of sneaking off when he turns his head away.

Kyan has started to walk.
Last night, after i finished my dinner, he offered to throw the empty packet for me. He held the empty pack in his right hand, walked to the direction of the kitchen and when he came to the trashbin, he placed the empty pack in the bin. Haha...妈妈的好帮手。。。

While Kyan is nursing a cold this week, he took his first steps, his first 10 steps on 13 August. His milestone for 1 year old. He could turn stand from squatting position and shift his steps to turn his body. Kyan, time to put on shoes!! It is also intesteting to note that Kyan is getting more and more interactive these days. Although he cant speak yet, he responses by pointing and his ooh, aah and change of tone of voice. He understands quite a lot of words and instructions, suc as sit down, walk walk, tippy toe, open/close the windows, keep the toys, play with toys...he is trying to say "no" and tippy toe". He has been conditioned to say "chou chou" whenevr we change his diaper or when we smell his shorts...haha :)

Baby Kyan turns 1 today. In fact in about 25 minutes time, he is exactly 1 year old. Its incredible, its been 1 year, baby kyan has grown so much the past 12 months. He is really a bundle of joy for us, of course not forgetting the tumultous times which make the first 12 months an unforgettable experience.
Baby Kyan is indeed blessed. Besides gong gong and po po, yi yi and ah yi, Toa Payoh Auntie and Newton Ah Ma remembered his birthday. Aunty Mee Tin and Aunty Margaret remebered his birthday too and gave very very big angbao. Actually I feel bad that they spent so much money..Uncle Jensen booked is condo clubhouse and we had a gathering cum bday celebration.Look at the pretty cupcakes, thanks to lobang king Franklin who linked me up with his cousin who is a cupcake specialist!

1. When Kyan was at 3 months, people thought he was a 6 month baby. It's no wonder cos we saw this 6 month old baby smaller size than him when he was at 3 month. The follow up question to us was "what do u feed him with?"
2. I must say Kyan's an early developer in the growth of teeth. He cut his first tooth at about 5-6month and subsequently, his upper 4 teeth came along. I am just glad that the teething stage is over--at least for now. He really looked cute when he flashed his toothy smile. Oh but not when he bites...
2. Kyan is an avid crawler. He moves--non stop.Come every weekend, we will think of where to bring him to so that he could expend his energy. Interestingly the only time, really the ONLY time he stays motionless is when he is drinking milk and seated in the swimming float (ironically).
3. Currently his best friends are "Lion", "bear bear" and "Fish".
4. Aunty Margaret taught him to put his hand to his ear. Now he does this action whenever we say "hello".

Kyan's birthday gift to me is saying "mamama"..It happened yesterday.
He "mmmm" when he is fed with fruits and porridge.
He knows its time for milk milk, but before he drinks, he will massage his gums by sucking his thumb.

Today is my 33rd birthday. Before I received my sister's sms, I thought I was 32. Apart from the bday wishes from close friends and loved ones, I received a bouquet of sunflowers and a card signed off by hubby and on behalf of precious Kyan. The other is a pot of African violet by my pupil Amanda. She added a piece of paper with instructions on how to care for the plant.
